I am a retired missionary of the Church of the Nazarene. My wife Genevieve and I were the missionaries assigned to open a new missionary work with the Aguaruna Indians in the Amazon rain forest in Peru, South America. BEYOND THE CALL tells the story of the insurmountable challenges our family faced to take the Gospel to that tribe of indigenous people who had never seen a Bible, had never heard the name of Jesus and didn’t even have a word for God in their language.

Before you contact a Peruvian travel agent and plan a trip to Peru let me remind you that there is more to Peru than Cusco and Machu Picchu. Read my book BEYOND THE CALL and consider including a tour of the Amazon River. November to May is the wet season in the rainforest and I think it is the preferred time to visit and travel on the Amazon River and its tributaries. You too could share an amazing Amazon adventure with a tribe of aboriginal Indians who are virtually untouched by modern civilization.
